When and where will the workshop take place?
March 15-22, 2013 in Italy (Rome-Florence-Milan)
Workshop attendees flying from the U.S. will take an overnight flight on Thursday, March 14 and arrive into Rome, Italy on Friday, March 15. On March 22 coaches will depart from Milan, Italy.

How much does the workshop cost?
CoachesNet members: $2,850 (airfare not included)
Non-members: $2,950 (airfare not included)
How is registration handled?
Interested coaches are required to apply online. Approved coaches will be charged a non-refundable, non-transferable $450 deposit. Approved coaches will be notified via e-mail with additional course details. Coaches should secure travel only after receiving written approval/confirmation from U.S. Soccer.
What if the workshop sells out or my application is not accepted?
U.S. Soccer will not charge you a fee.
Do I need to hold a U.S. Soccer “A” license?
This workshop is intended for the most experienced U.S. coaches. U.S. Soccer will give priority registration to applicants holding a U.S. Soccer “A” License.
If I hold an “A” license will I earn continuing education units (CEUs)?
“A” license coaches will earn eight (8) credits, the necessary amount needed to renew, if they have not already earned the necessary credits to renew in their current 4 year cycle.
What if my “A” license expires just prior to the workshop?
If your “A” license is set to expire prior to the workshop (ex. January 2013), you may still attend this workshop and earn the necessary credits to renew your license.
Am I required to submit anything else as part of my application?
Applicants who do not hold a U.S. Soccer “A” license will be asked to submit proof of their coaching background and/or license(s).
What is included in my registration fee?
Workshop fee includes seven nights (double occupancy) accommodations, all group meals, round-trip airport transfers on group departure and arrival days only (from designated airports only), ground transportation to group functions, applicable taxes, training sessions, lectures with professional coaches, a ticket to one professional match, a professional bilingual guide, certificate of attendance, U.S. Soccer/NIKE travel wear and coaching materials.
What is not included in my registration fee?
Workshop fee does notinclude airfare, airport taxes, passport or visa fees, extra meals or activities outside of the group schedule, or gratuities for guides. Confirmed coaches are responsible for any incidental costs during the week such as phone, dry cleaning, movies, internet, etc. and will be asked to leave a credit card imprint upon check-in to cover any incidental charges.
Am I required to have a passport and/or a visa?
U.S. citizens may enter Italy for up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes without a visa. The passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the period of stay. Non U.S. citizens should consult with the Embassy of Italy in Washington to confirm visa requirements:

Which airport should I fly into?
If you wish to have round-trip airport transfers then you are required to fly into Rome International Airport (FCO) on March 15 and depart from Milan International Airport (MXP) on March 22.
Round-trip airport transfers will only be available on arrival day (March 15) and departure day (March 22). Additional transportation details can be provided for those extending their stay.
When do I need to arrive on March 15?
Confirmed attendees flying from the U.S. will depart on Thursday, March 14 and take an overnight flight to Rome, Italy. A majority of flights from the United States land in the morning. Ground transportation will be provided on March 15 as long as the attendee flies into Rome International Airport.
An opening meeting will take place on the afternoon of March 15.
When will the workshop end?
The workshop concludes the morning of March 22.
Am I required to secure a hotel room for the week?
The course fee includes seven (7) nights accommodations based on double occupancy. If you plan to arrive prior to March 15 or depart after March 22 and would like to stay at the chosen hotels, please inform us via e-mail at coaches@ussoccer.org. U.S. Soccer will arrange for special pricing at the designated hotel for those looking to extend their stay.
Will I have a roommate?
Rooms are assigned based on double occupancy with another attendee. Attendees who have not chosen a roommate will be randomly paired. Roommate requests should be e-mailed to coaches@ussoccer.org no later than March 1.
U.S. Soccer will periodically send updates on confirmed attendees.
Are single rooms available?
Yes, as long as the hotel has availability. You may indicate on the registration form if you wish to have a single room. There will be an additional charge added to your registration fee for the week.
Is internet available at the hotel?
More details will be available once the hotel details are finalized.
Is transportation provided?
A charter bus will be provided for all group transportation needs.
Is airfare included?
Airfare is not included.
How many coaches will be attendance?
In the past, the group size has ranged from 25 to 40.
What are the expectations of the attendees?
Attendees should be open to sharing their ideas and learning new ideas, approaches and philosophies. We will be guests of the Italian Federation as well as various professional clubs, and we expect each member of our group to be respectful of our hosts. We also ask that you remain flexible as there may be schedule changes during the workshop.
What should my expectations be?
Coaches should expect an organized, professional workshop that exposes them to professional coaches, teams, players and the host Federation that you may not typically have a chance to interact with.

Am I required to attend all lectures and field sessions?
Attendees are required to attend all scheduled functions. Personal time will be scheduled based on the final agenda.
Will I be required to complete homework or course work?
Attendees will be asked to complete a group assignment and participate in group discussions.
Can I bring my spouse, family members or friends with me?
U.S. Soccer does not allow guests (spouse, family members or friends) to travel with the group if they are not attending the workshop as a participant. We recommend you arrive early or stay after the workshop for personal travel.

What is a typical day like?
The agenda will be full from morning to night. On most days breakfast will be at 8:00 a.m. and dinner at 8:00 p.m. In between, time will be spent visiting and learning from the various professional clubs and coaches.
Will there be free time?
The agenda will be full for all eight days. U.S. Soccer however does recognize the value in learning about different cultures and will try to provide time for coaches to explore, shop, and learn about Italy.
Who will be attending the trip from U.S. Soccer?
U.S. Soccer will provide professional staff. The final list will be provided prior to departure.
What game will we see?
The final agenda will be available prior to departure. The current agenda includes one to two professional games.
What will the field sessions and lectures be on?
These will vary. In past trips we have focused on the local professional clubs, coaches and their players from youth to adult.
For all sponsored workshops U.S. Soccer works to include the host Federation. In 2013, The Italian Federation is scheduled to present.

Will we have a chance to play?
Yes, the agenda will call for some time to play during the week.
Am I required to play?
No, coaches are not required to play. Playing will only take place amongst the group or with local coaches.
Will gear be provided?
Gear will not be provided so we recommend you bring along your boots and training gear.
Can I video tape lectures and/or field sessions?
Coaches are encouraged to bring cameras.
Do I need to submit a deposit with my application?
A $450 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is required with your application.
When is the final payment due?
Final payment is required on or before January 21.
What if I need to cancel my registration?
A cancellation fee of $450 plus the deposit ($450) will be assessed to Coaches who cancel less than four (4) weeks prior to the start of the workshop, regardless of circumstance. All cancellations must be made in writing. Coaches enrolled who fail to attend will forfeit their entire tuition.
Does U.S. Soccer offer travel insurance?
Insurance is not included. We suggest you contact your local insurance broker for information on travel and medical insurance when traveling out of the country.
Will I receive a certificate?
All attendees will receive a certificate of attendance following the completion of the workshop.
