U.S. Soccer “C” License Retest
Candidates who received a “Not Ready” in a previously completed “C” License course (beginning in 2006) have the opportunity to re-test their “Not-Ready” component at a U.S. Soccer hosted regional test site. Once a “Pass” grade is received for each component during the retest, then the candidate will receive a U.S. Soccer National “C” License.
Each coach is eligible to retest after a period of six months from completion of their previously attended “C” license course or retest. There are no limitations placed on the amount of times a coach may retest, however there is a waiting period of six months between each retest attempt.
If the coach is successful in earning the "C" license they must wait a minimum of one (1) year from the date of the retest before attending a U.S. Soccer "B" license course.
Each candidate is responsible for their own travel, food and lodging costs, if necessary.
Who is eligible to enroll in a U.S. Soccer “C” license retest course?
Candidates who received a “Not Ready” grade from a previously attended “C” License course beginning in 2006.
What if I received a “Fail” grade from a “ C ” License course prior to January 2006? Candidates who received a “Fail” grade from a “C” License Course prior to January 2006 must retake the entire 9-day course and are not eligible to retest.
Can I retest at a National or State hosted "C" license course?
Coaches may only retest at a U.S. Soccer hosted regional test site.
When can I retest?
Eligible coaches may retest after waiting a period of six months from their previously attended course. There are no limitations placed on the amount of times a coach may retest, however there is a waiting period of six months between each retest attempt.
When are the courses held?
Retest courses are typically held in the spring and fall. Generally there are two retest sites held per region each year.
How long is the course?
Retest courses begin on a Friday evening with a field session review followed by a classroom review. Field practical exams begin on Saturday. Coaches must attend the Friday night review in order to test the following day. Coaches are asked to stay until the final field practical has been completed.
When will I receive my final field topic?
Eligible coaches will receive their final field topic via e-mail along with other course details within a week from receipt of application.
Who will I train?
U.S. Soccer makes every attempt to provide youth (U-11 to U-16) age players. Coaches are however required to come prepared to participate.
