CHICAGO (Monday, April 9, 2001) - As a prelude to the opening game, WUSA founder John Hendricks, along with U.S. Women's National Team stars Julie Foudy and Brandi Chastain, will address the National Press Club's newsmaker luncheon this Friday (April 13) at 12:30 p.m. ET. Remarks, broadcast by C-Span and National Public Radio, will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a brief question-and-answer session.

The long-awaited and much-anticipated Women's United Soccer Association (WUSA) inaugural season kicks off Saturday (April 14) with what is surely to be an entertaining match between the Mia Hamm-led Washington Freedom and the Brandi Chastain-led Bay Area CyberRays.
