New MNT Kit
In a new piece for 2004, we engage in some shameless self-promotion by spotlighting a different U.S. Soccer product each month, from the newest Nike apparel to all kinds of other unique U.S. Men’s & Women’s merch.
Feb. 26, 2004
If Claudio and Landon and Kasey and the rest of the gang looked a little different in the USA-Netherlands match back on Feb. 18, it’s because they were sporting the brand new Total 90 kit from Nike, which has drawn rave reviews from New York to Milan. The U.S. Men will continue to wear the simple and classic-looking jersey with a few modern flourishes [Editor’s note: That description came from us, not a Eurosport catalog--we promise.] over the next two years as they traverse CONCACAF Qualifying, so you’ll have plenty of time to get used to the new look.
A drastic change from the team’s flashier 2002 World Cup jerseys, which featured a collar and vibrant red & blue panels under both arms, one of the new uni’s most distinctive features is the large circle surrounding the jersey number in the center of the jersey, with the U.S. Soccer crest centered above. Another different feature is the patch of color on the back shoulder that provides space for the player name in white.
