Felix Carranza has been selected Development Academy Referee of the Week for his performance in the March 6 match between Southeast Division opponents Weston FC and Miami FC Kendall.

Felix is a native of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, where he was a professional player. His love of the game inspired him to try his hand at refereeing upon moving to the United States. Despite the fact that Felix has only three years of officiating under his belt, he has quickly risen through the refereeing ranks and officiated his first Development Academy match earlier this season.

According to Felix, the Florida Soccer Referee Academy Program has provided the mentoring that has guided his rapid development. He is quick to credit the educators and administrators in his home state for the guidance and opportunities to officiate at an increasingly higher level.
