Birth Year: 1994
Martin Giordano scored two goals against Birmingham United on Sunday in a 5-0 win and is now his team’s leading scorer with six goals on the season. The pivotal win on Sunday broke a two game losing streak and their offensive efforts helped the team score one less goal than they scored collectively in the entire month of October prior to this result.
Weston is paired in conference matches this weekend against Atlanta Fire United and South Carolina United FC. The team will have a short break before traveling to the 2010 Winter Showcase in Phoenix, Ariz.
U-17/18 Performer of the Week: Sean Okoli
Club: Seattle Sounders FC
Position: Forward
Birth Year: 1993
Sean Okoli scored four goals this past weekend; two against LA Galaxy and two against Chivas USA. His goal scoring record is the best on his team through their opening four games. Overall, the newcomers to the Academy move to 2-0-2 in conference play. The team starts divisional play next weekend against the fellow newcomers, San Jose Earthquakes and a strong Cal Odyssey team.
Seattle Sounders FC finishes the month with more divisional play and then makes their premier at the 2010 Winter Showcase in December.
