U.S. U-17 MNT Earns Comeback Victory Against St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri

ST. LOUIS (Sept. 8, 2012) – The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team scored three unanswered goals to overcome a two-goal deficit in a 3-2 win against U.S. Soccer Development Academy side St. Louis Scott Gallagher Missouri on Saturday at St. Louis Soccer Park in Fenton, Mo.

After going down 2-0 inside the opening 25 minutes, the U.S. was able to cut the deficit in half when midfielder Rubio Rubin scored two minute before halftime.

The U.S. searched for an equalizer for much of the second half before forward Ahinga Selemani evened the score at 2-2 with a goal in the 75th minute.

Three minutes from time, U.S. forward Alan Winn – who entered the match as a 62nd-minute substitute – scored the game-winning goal in the 87th minute to lift the U.S. U-17 MNT to a victory in the first of two friendlies against U.S. Soccer Development Academy teams.

The U.S. faces Crew Soccer Academy on Sept. 10 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
