Two Late Goals Vault U-17 MNT to 2-1 Win Against Canada

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Nov. 18, 2012) – The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team conceded an early goal, but earned a come-from-behind 2-1 win against Canada on Sunday at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Alan Winn scored the game-tying goal off an assist from Christopher Lema in the 60th minute, after Canada had taken an early lead following a 6th-minute goal from Marco-Leonel Dominguez.

Sebastian Elney entered the match in the 71st minute as a substitute for forward Ahinga Selemani and quickly impacted the match – scoring the game-winning goal in the 87th minute to help the U.S. earn its first win in the past four matches.

Elney’s goal was assisted by Corey Baird.

The U.S. is back in action on Nov. 28 as the team kicks off the 2012 Nike International Friendlies against Brazil at 5 p.m. ET at Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
