Under the new agreement, Prozone will provide comprehensive performance analysis for the next two years – including the 2010 World Cup in South Africa – using the state-of-the-art MATCHVIEWER™ software to create an objective assessment of player and referee performance.
The U.S. Men’s National Team will receive analysis of each match played and head coach Bob Bradley will have access to the analysis of every MLS match.
Paul Tamberino, Brian Hall and Alfred Kleinaitis from U.S. Soccer’s Referee Department, will be using Prozone to analyze the performance of referees each week in MLS and the performance of up-and-coming referees at each Development Academy event.
Development Academy teams will receive video analysis from their Showcase matches enabling them to track progress over the course of the year and provide Academy coaches with insight to improve both their team play and the performance of individual players. All information will also be made available to U.S. National Team scouts and coaches for player identification purposes.
“Applying the analysis at the national, professional and developmental levels will establish an unparalleled consistency of analysis of the game in the United States,” said Prozone’s head of business development Blake Wooster. “U.S. Soccer will have the opportunity to develop consistent and objective measurements of all home-grown players to identify and nurture emerging talent, whilst providing the elite MLS clubs and the National Team the most comprehensive set of performance data available.”
