Bruce Arena to Coach International Stars in Etcheverry Testimonial Match

U.S. Manager Bruce Arena will visit a long-time friend Thursday when he coaches the International Stars as part of Bolivian legend Marco Etcheverry's testimonial match March 30 at the Estadio Tahuichi Aguilera in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

CHICAGO (March 29, 2006) - U.S. Manager Bruce Arena will visit a long-time friend on Thursday, March 30, when he coaches the International Stars as part of Bolivian legend Marco Etcheverry's testimonial match at the Estadio Tahuichi Aguilera in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.

The match will feature members of the Bolivian squad that qualified for the 1994 FIFA World Cup against an international select team that includes former Colombian international Carlos Valderrama, famed Paraguayan goalkeeper Jose Luis Chilavert, Chilean stars Ivan Zamorano and Fabian Estay, and a host of others. Along with former D.C. United teammate Jaime Moreno, Bolivian President Evo Morales is expected to suit up.

"El Diablo" served as team captain during Arena's three-year tenure at United, the duo collecting two consecutive MLS Championships and the 1998 Interamerican Cup.
