U.S. Beach Soccer Men's National Team Off to Portugal

The U.S. Beach Soccer Men’s National Team will depart on Aug. 3 for the International Tournament Mundialito in Praia de Rocha, Portimão, Portugal. Head coach Eddie Soto will bring 10 players to the event, which will serve as a warm-up for the 2010 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship, tentatively scheduled for early December. The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup has been switched to a biannual event, and will next be played in 2011.

Soto’s current roster includes veterans Jevin Albequerque, Yuri Morales and Ronnie Silva, who were part of the most recent trip to the FIFA event by a U.S. team in 2007.
