U.S. U-20 MNT to Play Colombia and Mexico at the Torneo de las Americas in Kennesaw, Ga.


CHICAGO (Nov. 1, 2010) – The U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team will participate in a three-game international tournament with Mexico and Colombia at the Kennesaw State University Soccer Stadium in Kennesaw, Ga., from Nov. 26-28.

The Torneo de las Americas will see Thomas Rongen’s team take on Colombia on Nov. 26 and play Mexico two days later, with both games kicking off at 3:30 p.m. ET. Colombia will also play against Mexico on Nov. 27.

"Playing good international opponents on our home soil will be an important test for our players," said Rongen. "We know Colombia and Mexico are both teams that will be challenging to play against, and that will be good for our team as we continue to build toward qualifying next year."

Tickets to the event start at $14 per game and are on sale to the public Thursday, Oct. 28 at Noon EST through www.theatlantabeat.com and at the KSU Soccer Stadium ticket box office (on day of game). The U.S. U-20 MNT is gearing up for the 2011 CONCACAF U-20 Championship in April in Guatemala. The 12-team event will qualify four teams to the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia. The U.S. has qualified for seven-straight World Cups at this level dating back to 1997.
