FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Thursday, March 25, 1999) - With less than one week left before departing for Nigeria and the 1999 FIFA World Youth Championship, the U.S. Under-20 National Team blanked Nova Southeastern University this evening, 4-0, at the school's Ft. Lauderdale campus. The national team will play one final tune-up match, versus Florida Atlantic University on Sunday (Mar. 28), before departing for Nigeria on Tuesday.

Nick Garcia and Taylor Twellman scored first-half goals while Steve Cherundolo and Luis Gonzalez added strikes after the break for the shutout win. Goalkeepers Tim Howard and Nick Rimando combined for the shutout.

U.S. U-20 Head Coach Sigi Schmid will announce the USA's final, 18-player roster for the World Championship during a Friday (March 26) media conference call. To participate in the call, which will include a Q&A session with Schmid, please contact U.S. Soccer for more information. U.S. National Team press officer Brian Remedi will be the conference chairperson.
