Under-20 Women's National Team Dominiates Chile, 5-1 to Win Four Nations Tournament
In a match watched by 8,000 fans, the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team blew past host Chile by a 5-1 score to win its third straight match, and the championship, of the Four Nations Tournament in La Serena. It was the first tournament victory under new U.S. head coach Tony DiCicco. The USA also won the Fair Play Award.

"I am very proud of our team," said DiCicco. "They have shown great improvements in each game and today's effort was a very professional performance against a feisty and smart Chile team in front of a large and loud home crowd. Although it took a while to break down the Chile defense, we created some outstanding opportunities and finished some wonderful goals."
The U.S. team was the aggressor throughout the match and tallied first in the 28th minute as Nikki Marshal sent a cross on the ground that forward Kelley O'Hara finished first-time from six yards out.
The half ended with the USA holding just a 1-0 lead, but it didn't take long for the USA to blow the game open, scoring in the first minute of the second half and added three more goals in a 21-minute span. The second goal was scored by Marshall, who shot from 12 yards out after receiving a pass from Michelle Enyeart and making space for herself with a few quick touches.
Enyeart created the third goal as well, dribbling to the end line on the right side in the 57th minute and cutting a pass on the ground that O'Hara finished from the six-yard line. Enyeart then created one for herself just two minutes later, dribbling straight through the middle of the defense before slotting the ball into the right corner.
The USA added the final goal on a header from Keelin Winters off a corner kick by Casey Nogueira. Chile got a consolation goal in stoppage time of the second half as Karen Araya covered in a nice free kick to avoid the shutout.
"Every player on the roster started at least one game of the three and there were some outstanding performance by players with little or no international experience," said DiCicco. "Clearly, it will be a very competitive environment for players vying for spots on the qualifying roster. As always, winning the FIFA Fair Play Award as well as the first place trophy is a testament to the quality of personal character on our USA U-20 Team."
The USA won its first two matches of the tournament, defeating England, 1-0, and Norway, 2-1.
