U.S. Under-23 MNT Tops Creighton in a Scrimmage in Bradenton, Fla.
The U.S. Under-23 Men's National Team topped Creighton University, 4-0, in a scrimmage in Bradenton, Fla., behind a first-half brace from Jozy Altidore, and second half goals from Eddie Gaven and Chad Barrett.

BRADENTON, Fla. (March 4, 2008) -- The U.S. Under-23 Men's National Team topped Creighton University, 4-0, in a scrimmage in Bradenton, Fla., behind a first-half brace from Jozy Altidore, and second half goals from Eddie Gaven and Chad Barrett.
The Under-23s dominated a majority of the game, taking 11 shots to Creighton's one and earning seven corner kicks to none.
Altidore's first goal in the 20th minute came as a result of a challenge by Maurice Edu on a 50/50 ball with Creighton goalkeeper Ryan Holt. Edu kept the ball alive, and Altidore fired the bouncing ball high into the goal.
Fifteen minutes later, Findley received a ball with his back to goal, turned on his defender and layed it off to Altidore, who was running into the box unmarked. Altidore took a touch, and placed a shot into the lower left corner.
In the second half, with a mostly fresh squad on the field, the U.S. added to their lead. In the 53rd minute, Kamani Hill played a ball into the box for Eddie Gaven, who brought the ball down with his chest and hit a half volley into the near post.
Late in the second half, Kamani Hill ran onto a ball in the corner and played it into the box. The ball fell inside the six, and Chad Barrett was there to power it home.
