Individual Match Date Tickets for FIFA Women's World Cup USA 2003 on Sale Now
CHICAGO (Monday, August 11, 2003) – The Women’s World Cup 2003 Organizing Committee announced today that a limited number of individual match date tickets for all six venues of the FIFA Women’s World Cup USA 2003 will go on sale Friday (Aug. 15) at 12 p.m. ET / 9 a.m. PT at www.FIFAworldcup.com. Each match date consists of an afternoon or evening doubleheader, except the Third Place Match on Oct. 11 and the Final on Oct. 12.

CHICAGO (Monday, August 11, 2003) – The Women’s World Cup 2003 Organizing Committee announced today that a limited number of individual match date tickets for all six venues of the FIFA Women’s World Cup USA 2003 will go on sale Friday (Aug. 15) at 12 p.m. ET / 9 a.m. PT at FIFAworldcup.com. Each match date consists of an afternoon or evening doubleheader, except the Third Place Match on Oct. 11 and the Final on Oct. 12, which will both be played as stand-alone games at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
Individual match date tickets range in price from $20 to $175 (and up to $400 for the final), depending on the USA’s involvement and the stage of the three-week competition. In addition to FIFAworldcup.com, fans can purchase these tickets over the phone by calling 1-800-WWC-TIKS (992-8457) for five of the six venues and 202-432-SEAT (7328) or 1-800-551-SEAT (7328) for tickets at RFK Stadium [link to FIFA Women's World Cup USA 2003 section at Ticketmaster.com].
Tickets can also be purchased at the stadium ticket office of all six venues during normal business hours. Tickets for groups of 50 or more will also be available starting Friday by calling 312-528-1290. [Special Note: Tickets for the USA’s Group A showdown with North Korea on Sept. 28 in Columbus are limited to 8 per customer. Tickets for the FIFA Women’s World Cup USA 2003 Final on Oct. 12 in Carson, Calif., are limited to 6 per customer.]
To ensure a chance to get tickets before they sell out, fans can still purchase venue series tickets through this Wednesday (Aug. 13) at 11:30 p.m. (local time). Venue series tickets are priced from $50 to $660 and include all match dates played at a specific venue.
The USA opens their FIFA Women’s World Cup title defense against Sweden on Sunday, Sept. 21 at RFK Stadium, which will also host doubleheaders on Wednesday, Sept. 24 and Saturday, Sept. 27, featuring action from Groups A, B and C. The USA’s second match is against Nigeria at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Thursday, Sept. 25. The first game of the 2003 FIFA Women’s World Cup will actually kickoff in Philly on Saturday, Sept. 20 with the opener of Group A (Norway-France) and Group B (Nigeria-North Korea).
First round group play for the U.S. WNT will finish with a tense match against North Korea on Sunday, Sept. 28 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. Crew Stadium will host three sets of doubleheaders, including two matches on the tournament’s first day of action on Saturday, Sept. 20, and games on Wednesday, Sept. 24 that will feature action from Group C, which includes Germany, Canada, Japan and Argentina.
The tournament quarterfinals will be played as doubleheaders on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass., and Thursday, Oct. 2 at PGE Park in Portland, Ore. Should the U.S. advance to the knockout stage, they would play their quarterfinal match in Boston. In addition to the game three finales of Group D on Sunday, Sept. 28, PGE Park will also host the tournament semifinals on Sunday, Oct. 5. Gillette Stadium’s other matches are crucial game three matches from Group B and C on Saturday, Sept. 27.
The third place game and final will be played as stand alone games on Oct. 11 and Oct. 12, respectively, at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. Action from Group D, which features China, Ghana, Russia and Australia, will kickoff with doubleheaders on Sunday, Sept. 21 and Thursday, Sept. 25 at the H.D.C.
