CHICAGO (April 11, 2007) – U.S. Soccer and ussoccer.com will present complete MatchACCESS coverage of the U.S. Women’s National Team game against Mexico, live on Saturday (April 14) at 4:45 p.m. ET / 1:45 p.m. PT. The match is the first U.S. Women’s National Team game to be broadcast exclusively on ussoccer.com, and is a part of the popular website’s extensive online video streaming coverage.
MatchACCESS will also include post-match coverage and interviews, and fans can also follow along with lineups, stats and commentary via ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker.
The U.S. women’s game is the opening match of a doubleheader also featuring the hometown New England Revolution against the expansion Toronto FC. Tickets for the two-game package start at $32 and are available online at ussoccer.com, at all Massachusetts Ticketmaster outlets (including Macy’s and FYE Stores), the Gillette Stadium Box Office (Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and by phone at 866-448-7849 or 617-931-2222. The USA-Mexico clash is the first of eight domestic games the U.S. women will play over the five months before leaving for China. The schedule continues with a match against Canada (tickets) on May 12 in Frisco, Texas. The USA will wear pink uniforms in that match to benefit Breast Cancer Awareness. The USA will then embark on a six-game 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup Send-Off Series, starting against China (tickets) on June 16 in Cleveland and continuing against Brazil (tickets) on June 23 in East Rutherford, N.J., in a re-match of the 2004 Olympic gold medal game.
U.S. WNT head coach Greg Ryan chose the USA roster for the match in Foxborough from the 33 players currently in the four-month Residency Training Camp at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
