U.S. Women to Play in Portland and Albuquerque After Return From The 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup

CHICAGO (August 21, 2007) – The U.S. Women’s National Team will play matches at PGE Park in Portland, Ore., and University Stadium in Albuquerque, N.M., vs. Mexico in October following the team's return from the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup being staged from Sept. 10-30 in China. Following a previously announced match in St. Louis on Oct. 13, the U.S. women will play on Oct. 17 in Portland with a 7 p.m. PT kickoff at PGE Park before wrapping up the three-game series vs. Mexico in Albuquerque on Oct. 20 at 4:30 p.m. MT.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (May 9, 2004) - The U.S. Women's National Team battled through a scrappy and determined Mexican team, as well as the Albuquerque altitude and heat, finally breaking open the game in the second half to record a 3-0 victory in front of 17,805 fans at University Stadium. The U.S. got goals from starting forwards Cindy Parlow and Mia Hamm to establish a 2-0 lead by the 64th minute, while second-half sub Lori Chalupny scored her first goal at the full international level when she struck a shot from distance in the 87th minute to clinch the victory.

(March 19, 2005) — The U.S. Men's National Team defeated Honduras 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at University Stadium in Albuquerque, N.M., in the team's final tune-up matches for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers on March 27 in Mexico and March 30 in Birmingham, Ala. The match was an historic milestone for U.S. head coach Bruce Arena, who became the first coach in U.S. Men's National Team history to reach the 100-game plateau, improving his all-time record to 55-23-22.
