U-17 '88s Sit Atop Group B of Ballymena Tournament After 2-0 Win Over Scotland

April 30, 2004

BALLYMENA, Northern Ireland (April 30, 2004) - The U.S. Under-17 '88 Men's National Team took over sole possession of first place in Group B of the Ballymena International Tournament in Northern Ireland this evening with a 2-0 victory over reigning champion Scotland at the Ballymena Showgrounds. Preston Zimmerman scored both second half goals to give the U.S. a full six points after two games, as the U.S. defeated Belgium 1-0 in their first match of the tournament on Thursday.

U-17 MNT Advacne to Ballymena Final with Stunning Win Over Northern Ireland

The U.S. Under-17 Men's National Team went down a man in the first minute and were forced to play with 10 men for the entire match, but were still able to pull off a remarkable 2-0 victory over Northern Ireland this afternoon to advance to the final of the 2006 Ballymena International Tournament for the fourth straight time.

U.S. Under-17 '88 MNT Finish Second at Ballymena Tournament, Zimmerman Awarded MVP

BALLYMENA, Northern Ireland (May 3, 2004) - The U.S. Under-17 ’88 Men’s National Team got their third shutout in four matches, but ended up falling to Switzerland 4-3 in penalty kicks this afternoon in the championship match of the 5th Ballymena International Tournament in Northern Ireland. The Under-17s '88s second-place finish ties their best showing at the tournament in three attempts, as they also took home the second place trophy in 2002. In their first effort in 2000, the U.S. finished in sixth place out of the 12-team field. U.S. forward Preston Zimmerman was named the tournament MVP after scoring two goals and wreaking havoc on the opposition's defense in their four matches.

U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team to Face Denmark, Turkey at Northern Ireland Milk Cup 2012

The U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team will participate at the Northern Ireland Milk Cup 2012 from July 21-26 in Ballymena, Northern Ireland. Head coach Tab Ramos will lead his squad against Denmark and Turkey in the first two matches.

The U.S. will take on host Northern Ireland on Friday, Aug. 5, in the championship match.
