Despite best efforts on the part of both teams all week, Greensboro Youth Soccer and the New York Red Bulls faced off for the honor of seventh place today on the final day of Development Academy Finals Week. With two first half goals, the New York Red Bulls took a lead they would never surrender and concluded their trip to L.A. with a 3-1 victory against Greensboro Youth Soccer.

With a chance of advancement to the championship on the line, U-15/16 New Jersey side PDA played aggressive, attacking soccer and dispatched Greensboro Youth Soccer 2-0 on the final day of group games. They didn’t get the break needed in another game however, and will have to settle for playing in the third place match on Friday, July 17 at 5 pm PT.

Cal Odyssey stayed focused and resilient to get a late game-winner from Gregory Antognoli II in the 64th minute to open their U-15/16s Finals Week campaign with a victory. It was a tough defeat for Greensboro 'keeper Ryan Hanson, who stopped a penalty kick in the 16th minute but was unable to keep the the California side at bay.
