North Korea Last Hurdle to Quarterfinals

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003) - After a quick flight from Philadelphia to Columbus yesterday, the U.S. Women's World Cup Team had its first practice at Crew Stadium this morning as it looks to advance into the quarterfinals with a win or tie against North Korea tomorrow. The U.S. sits atop Group A with six points after victories over Sweden and Nigeria. Kickoff against North Korea is at 3:45 ET at Crew Stadium and will be televised live on ABC and Telefutura. Read on to get the inside scoop on the North Korea, find out how close the U.S. is to getting its 1,000th goal in team history, and hear what head coach April Heinrichs and players were saying the day before the big match.

U-17 WNT Faces Korea DPR for Berth to 2012 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Quarterfinals

U.S. U-20 MNT Shoots for Round of 16 with Game against Korea Republic

The U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team sits on the verge of the FIFA U-20 World Cup Round of 16 and faces Korea Republic on Friday, Oct. 2 in its final game of Group C. With three points, the USA can confirm its passage to the next round with a point against a familiar foe from South Korea. Germany and Cameroon will play simultaneously, with all four teams having a shot at the knockout round. Both games kick off at 6:45 p.m. local time (12:45 p.m. ET) and the U.S. game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and Galavision. U.S. U-17 Women's National Team Meets Korea DPR in Historic First-Ever FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup Final

The United States and Korea DPR will meet in the historic first-ever FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup Final on Nov. 16 at North Harbour Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand as West meets East and a long-time women’s soccer power meets one of the new ones. Organizers are expecting a crowd of 10-15,000 for the game which kicks off at 4 p.m. local (10 p.m. ET on Nov. 15). Fans can follow the match by logging onto ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker.

U.S. Team Travels to Daegu

CHICAGO (Sunday, June 9, 2002) - Today was a travel day for the U.S., as the team moved to Daegu, where they will face Korea tomorrow night at 3:30 p.m. local time (live on ESPN2 at 2:20 a.m. ET). The team bused from their hotel this afternoon to Incheon International Airport, where they caught a charter flight to Daegu.

Abu Dhabi, UAE (Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003) - The U.S. holds its destiny in its hands. With a win or a tie against South Korea tomorrow night, the U.S. is guaranteed to advance to the second round. The U.S. kick off against South Korea at 8:30 p.m. local (11:30 a.m. ET) at Al-Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi. North Korea Secures Qualification in 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup; Japan Will Face South Korea on Saturday for Other AFC Berth

CHICAGO (Thursday, June 19, 2003) — North Korea defeated Japan, 3-0, in the first semifinal of the 14th Asian Women’s Championship earlier today in Bangkok, Thailand, thereby earning one of Asia’s two berths to this fall’s Women’s World Cup in the United States. North Korea becomes the 14th team to qualify for the 4th FIFA Women’s World Cup.
