COLUMBUS, Ohio (Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003) - After a quick flight from Philadelphia to Columbus yesterday, the U.S. Women's World Cup Team had its first practice at Crew Stadium this morning as it looks to advance into the quarterfinals with a win or tie against North Korea tomorrow. The U.S. sits atop Group A with six points after victories over Sweden and Nigeria. Kickoff against North Korea is at 3:45 ET at Crew Stadium and will be televised live on ABC and Telefutura. With three points, the USA can confirm its passage to the next round with a point against a familiar foe from South Korea. Germany and Cameroon will play simultaneously, with all four teams having a shot at the knockout round. The United States and Korea DPR will meet in the historic first-ever FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup Final on Nov. 16 at North Harbour Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand as West meets East and a long-time women’s soccer power meets one of the new ones.
