North Korea Last Hurdle to Quarterfinals

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003) - After a quick flight from Philadelphia to Columbus yesterday, the U.S. Women's World Cup Team had its first practice at Crew Stadium this morning as it looks to advance into the quarterfinals with a win or tie against North Korea tomorrow. The U.S. sits atop Group A with six points after victories over Sweden and Nigeria. Kickoff against North Korea is at 3:45 ET at Crew Stadium and will be televised live on ABC and Telefutura. The U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team sits on the verge of the FIFA U-20 World Cup Round of 16 and faces Korea Republic on Friday, Oct. 2 in its final game of Group C. With three points, the USA can confirm its passage to the next round with a point against a familiar foe from South Korea. Germany and Cameroon will play simultaneously, with all four teams having a shot at the knockout round. Both games kick off at 6:45 p.m. local time (12:45 p.m. ET) and the U.S. game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and Galavision.
