The U.S. faces a tough draw in Group A of the Paralympics with Ukraine, Brazil and host nation Great Britain expected to provide a stern test.

Jay Hoffman Named Head Coach for U.S. Paralympics Soccer

COLORADO SPRINGS, Co. (Friday, April 4, 2003) – U.S. Paralympics, a division of the U.S. Olympic Committee, has named Jay Hoffman to lead the U.S. Paralympics soccer program in preparation for the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece. Hoffman most recently coached the Boston Breakers in the WUSA for two seasons, and was a National Staff Coach at U.S. Soccer for eight years from 1992 to 2000.

U.S. Paralympics Pan Am Soccer Team Selected

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Tuesday, August 20, 2002) - Thirteen athletes have been named to the U.S. Paralympics Soccer Team that will compete Sept. 19-29 in the Pan Am Soccer Tournament in Santiago, Chile. The winner of the tournament receives an automatic berth to the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens.

The United States Men's Paralympic Soccer team opens play at the 2004 Paralympics in Athens, Greece on Sunday with a tough match-up against Brazil at the Olympic Hockey Centre. The match is the first of three for the U.S. in Group B action, as the team will continue in the tournament against Russia on Tuesday, Sept. 21 and the Netherlands on Thursday, Sept. 23.
