HAILEAH, Fla. (April 3, 2005) – The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team came away with a commanding 4-0 victory over Haiti this evening at Ted Hendricks Stadium in Haileah, Fla. In their final match before the U-17s attempt to qualify for the FIFA Under-17 World Championship, Quavas Kirk led the way with two goals and an assist.

U-17 MNT Defeat Comunicaciones 5-2 in Guatemala

GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala (Feb. 24, 2005) - The U.S. Under-17 Men's National team came away with their second victory during their Guatemala tour with a 5-2 win over Comunicaciones reserves on Thursday morning. The U.S. fell behind 1-0 early, but Blake Wagner and Ryan Soroka made it 2-1 at halftime. Comunicaciones tied it up a minute into the second half, but a strike from Preston Zimmerman and two from Quavas Kirk gave the U.S. the victory.

Kirk Nets Two in Win over China

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (September 5, 2005) - Quavas Kirk tallied both goals for the U.S. Under-17 Men's National Team in a 2-0 victory over China this evening at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla. The match is the first to two meetings between the countries as they will face off again on Thursday, Sept. 8, in the final match for both teams before they head to Peru to compete in the 2005 FIFA Under-17 World Championship.

Development Academy Q&A: Quavas Kirk

The Development Academy Program didn’t exist when Quavas Kirk was playing with the Chicago Magic. “I wish it was,” says Kirk. The Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder knows the Academy environment – such as meaningful training and quality matches – is modeled after U.S. Soccer Residency Program, which he was involved in for two years, and was a huge help in him jumping to the pros at such a young age. The match was the final of a three-match tour for John Hackworth's squad.

Adu Leads U.S. U-17 MNT Over Poland 3-2

CHICAGO (Thursday, Oct. 30, 2003) - Freddy Adu scored all three goals for the U.S. to lead the U.S. Under-17 Men's National Team over Poland 3-2 in their second game of the Val de Marne Tournament in France. Adu started the U.S. off quickly, snagging his first goal in the eighth minute off a pass from fellow starting forward Quavas Kirk. Poland found the equalizer in the 28th minute, but Adu struck right back two minutes later placing one into the back of the net off a service from midfielder Dax McCarty. In the second half, Adu completed his hat trick, scoring in the 57th minute. The goal turned out to be the game winner as Poland pulled to within one in the 61st minute. The U.S. fell to Japan 2-0 on Tuesday and will finish against France on Saturday, Nov. 1.

U.S. U-17s Down Peru 2-1 in Opening Match of Copa Telefonica

PUIRA, Peru (Aug. 10, 2004) - The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team got a goal and an assist from midfielder Quavas Kirk in the first half and then the U.S. defense held on against a strong wind in their face during the second stanza to down Peru 2-1 in their opening match of the Copa Telefonica Tournament on Tuesday night in front of about 10, 000 fans at Estadio Migual Grau in Puira, Peru. With the win, the U.S. sits in second place in the four-team tournament. In the other match, Colombia defeated Ecuador 3-0 and sits in first place. The U.S. will next face Colombia on Thursday, Aug. 12 at 5 p.m. CT.

U.S. U-17 MNT Fall 2-1 to Argentina in Opening Match of CONMEBOL Youth Tournament

The U.S. Under-17 '88 Men’s National Team fought tough with a talented Argentina side in their opening match of the Campeonato Sudamericano de Futbol Sub-16 Tournament this evening at a rain-soaked Estadio Villa Alegre in Encarnacion, Paraguay, but couldn't come back from a two-goal deficit and eventually fell 2-1 behind a single goal from forward Quavas Kirk.
