Benson Replaces Slaton on Gold Cup Roster

CHICAGO (Wednesday, October 23, 2002) - Defender Jenny Benson has replaced defender Danielle Slaton on the USA's CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup roster. Slaton, the youngest member of the 2000 Olympic Team and the 2002 WUSA Defender of the Year for the Carolina Courage, will have arthroscopic surgery to repair articular cartilage in her right knee on Thursday in North Carolina.
