U.S. U-17 Women Play Historic First Match of 2008 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, Fall 3-2 to Japan in Group C

The U.S. Under-17 Women's National Team made history Thursday, playing their first ever FIFA Under-17 Women's World Cup match against Japan. After taking an early lead, Japan turned up the pressure and it took until the second half before the U.S. could begin to assert themselves. After again taking the lead, it was Japan who put away two quick goals to upset the United States 3-2.
