Boxx, Fawcett Named to FIFA Women's World Cup All-Star Team

LONG BEACH, Calif. (Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003) - U.S. defender Joy Fawcett, one of the greatest players in Women’s World Cup history, and midfielder Shannon Boxx, a Women’s World Cup debutante, were named to the First 11 of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2003 All-Star Team. Forward Mia Hamm, whose inspiration play, passing and scoring, led the USA throughout the tournament, was named as one of the five reserves.
