Looking to win an unprecedented fifth consecutive Nordic Cup championship, the U.S. Under-21 Women’s National Team opened the eight-team competition with a 1-0 win over Denmark today, with forward Lindsay Tarpley providing the heroics in the 87th minute by pouncing and converting a rebound from a 25-yard blast by midfielder Carli Lloyd, who had come in the game in the 80th minute.
