U.S. Women’s National Team Defeats France 4-2 to Open Group G Play at 2012 Olympics

The U.S. Women’s National Team earned a huge three points with a 4-2 victory against France in the first Group G match for both countries at the 2012 Olympics in the famed Hampden Park. Carli Lloyd came off the bench to score the game-winning goal, Alex Morgan contributed two goals and Abby Wambach had the USA’s first tally as the U.S. rebounded from an early 2-0 deficit with four unanswered to open the Olympics atop its group.
