BRADENTON, Fla. (Sunday, September 2, 2001) - The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team extended their record international winning streak to 11 games with a 1-0 victory over two-time defending world champions Brazil at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. U.S. midfielder Mike Magee celebrated his 17th birthday with a brilliant second-half free kick that gave the North Americans the win.
