U.S. Soccer Wire: Boxx Scores In First Two Matches

Playing in their final match before the FIFA Women’s World Cup USA 2003, five different players scored as the U.S. Women's National Team topped Mexico 5-0 yesterday (Sept. 7) in front of 13,510 fans at San Jose's Spartan Stadium. Midfielder Shannon Boxx became only the third player in team history to score a goal in her first two international appearances with the early game-winner in the 10th minute, and Abby Wambach added a successful shot/cross strike in the 25th minute, with both goals being assisted by team captain Julie Foudy.
