Mitts To Make Homecoming at U.S. WNT Set for Sunday Match vs. New Zealand
Oct. 9, 2004
Fresh of the historic and dramatic gold medal run at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece, the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team plays its fourth game of the 10-game "Fan Celebration Tour" against New Zealand on Sunday, Oct. 10 at Paul Brown Stadium (Kickoff 4 p.m. ET). Fans can follow all the action on ussoccer.com's MatchTracker, presented by Philips Electronics. U.S. defender Heather Mitts will play in her hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio, with the U.S. National Team for the first time. Mitts, one of the least experienced players on the 2004 Olympic Team, has just 26 caps, but 2004 was a breakout year for the speedy and feisty defender out of the University of Florida.
