U.S. Futsal Team Wins Futsal Goal Cup Championship with 7-0 Victory Over Mexico

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Dec. 7, 2003) - The U.S. National Futsal Team thumped Mexico 7-0 on Sunday evening to win the 2003 Futsal Goal Cup, a four-team event being staged at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif. The U.S. opened the tournament with 5-3 victory over Canada on Friday only to suffer a tough 1-0 loss to Guatemala on an own goal on Saturday. Guatemala finished second in the event with six points, even with the U.S., but behind on plus-8 to plus-5 on goal differential.
