2003 Women's World Cup to Be Relocated Out of China

ZURICH, Switzerland (Saturday, May 3, 2003) - FIFA announced at an Executive Committee meeting in Zurich that the 4th FIFA Women's World Cup, which was scheduled to be played in China from September 23 to October 11, will be transferred to another country due to the current health threat in China. U.S. Soccer President S. Robert Contiguglia comments on the decision to move the event.
