"The Soap Boxx" - Fouth Entry

Oct. 4, 2003

PORTLAND, Ore. (Friday, Oct. 3, 2003) - Shannon Boxx became the first player in U.S. Women’s National Team history to score a goal in each of her first three caps, when she scored against Sweden in the USA's first match of the Women's World Cup. She hasn't scored since, but the tough defender is a big reason why the U.S. is in the semifinals. Check out Boxx's fourth installment of "The Soap Boxx," an ongoing journal chronicling the Women's World Cup rookie's journey through her first world championship tournament.
