March 12, 2013

U.S. midfielder Carli Lloyd suffered a non-displaced greater tuberosity fracture of the left shoulder during the USA’s opening match of the 2013 Algarve Cup in Portugal. Lloyd left during the second half against Iceland on March 6 and was held out of the USA’s two other group games. An MRI revealed the break and Lloyd will be out of action for approximately 6-8 weeks. She will not need surgery.
