The U.S. Women's National Team won the 2002 CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup in dramatic fashion on Saturday with a 94th minute "golden goal" from Mia Hamm in overtime to defeat Canada 2-1 in the championship game on a wet, soggy field at the Rose Bowl. It was Hamm's first goal of the tournament, but the 136th of her career. Hamm's goal was a thing of brilliance as she chipped a ball over Canadian goalkeeper Karina LeBlanc while fighting off defender Breanna Boyd at the top of the penalty area.
