Coach Elite Training

SPARQ will host two elite training-related sessions for Academy coaches designed to provide greater access to SPARQ’s fitness experts: Paul Winsper, SPARQ’s Performance Director, and Robbie Elliott, SPARQ Strength & Conditioning Coach – US Soccer Federation Youth National Teams and Development Academy.

The purpose of these sessions is to give coaches a practical introduction to the third phase of the Development Academy training program – Speed, Power and Agility for soccer – as well as to provide a forum for any and all questions related to players’ physical development.

Please RSVP to Bryan Koch at bkoch@ussoccer.org to confirm your reservation for any of these sessions. Be sure to indicate the day and time of the session you’d like to attend. U.S. Soccer “A” License coaches will earn one (1) CEU for attendance at a combination of one (1) Nike Soccer+ Session and one (1) SPARQ Speed, Power and Agility session.

Speed, Power and Agility for Soccer

This session will provide Academy coaches with an introduction to and practical application of Speed, Power and Agility for Soccer – a program designed to develop explosive soccer players. We will cover program philosophy, content and integration into your club’s weekly training schedule.

Each coach will receive a copy of this program in DVD form, along with a program guide and weekly schedule.

SPARQ Soccer Forum

We at SPARQ want to ensure that we provide not only the tangible tools and resources to help coaches take control of the SPARQ component of the Academy experience, but also serve as a resource for coaches who have questions and/or are seeking the information and guidance you need to make a difference.

How should you, the coach, incorporate SPARQ’s Strength Program into your weekly training? How does that program fit together with our Dynamic Warm-Up and Speed, Power and Agility Program? Can you introduce the ball into any of our Training Programs? What are the ideal methods of recovery immediately following a match? What should you do with SPARQ Ratings once players have been tested?

This is a chance to let us know how and where you need help, including sharing your thoughts on any currently un-met needs or wants. In other words, how can we better service your needs going forward? Speak up – we want to hear it.
