A recent call-up to the U.S. U-20 WNT, she spent most of 2008 and 2009 training with the U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team … Has played in just one international match heading into the 2010 U-20 Women’s World Cup … Was the starting goalkeeper for the U.S. U-17s at the 2010 CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament, putting in an excellent tournament while allowing zero goals … After the U-17s failed to qualify for the World Cup despite out-scoring its opponents 38-0 over five matches, she was called up to the U.S. U-20s for the run to the Germany … Has 11 U-17 caps … Played for the U.S. U-15s in 2008 and attended the U.S. Soccer U-14 Girls’ I.D. Camp in 2007.

Full name is Bryane Somerton Heaberlin … Nickname is Bree … Garnered some national attention in the media after the USA defeated Haiti in the 2010 CONCACAF U-17 Women’s Championships when her spontaneous hug and support of the distraught Haitian goalkeepr was chronicled in news stories and on ESPN’s E:60 … After returning home, she decided she needed to do more and spearheaded a fund-raising drive to bring the Haitian Team to the United States, organizing a trip for 20 players and six staff to come to Orlando, Fla. from July 6-18, 2010, for a mini-camp and to compete in the Disney International Tournament, visit every theme park, and have a party with all of the other teams … Lists her secondary position on the U.S. National Team as “hydration specialist” … Made the Headmaster’s List as a freshman and sophomore … Has volunteered at a nursing home and Berkeley Summer Camp for kids … Likes to play basketball, hang out with friends and swim … Her dad played soccer at Temple University and was also a goalkeeper.
