A member of the team that won the 2012 CONCACAF Under-20 Women’s Championship and earned a berth to the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Japan … Played and started in four games totaling 360 minutes … Had three shutouts in the tournament … Heads into the Women’s World Cup with 10 career caps and having started the most matches of any goalkeeper for the U-20s this year … The starting goalkeeper during the 2009-2010 cycle for the U-17s, she finished her career with 15 caps at the U-17 level … Was the starting goalkeeper for the U.S. U-17s at the 2010 CONCACAF Qualifying Tournament and had an excellent tournament while allowing no goals … After the U-17s failed to qualify for the World Cup despite outscoring their opponents 38-0 over five matches, she was called up to the U.S. U-20s for the run to Germany and made the Women’s World Cup as the youngest player on the roster, but did not see action in the tournament … Played for the U.S. U-15s in 2008 and attended the U.S. Soccer Under-14 Girls’ I.D. Full name is Bryane Somerton Heaberlin … Nickname is Bree …Will major in exercise and sports science … Garnered some national attention in the media after the USA defeated Haiti in the 2010 CONCACAF U-17 Women’s Championships when her spontaneous hug and support of the distraught Haitian goalkeeper was chronicled in news stories and on ESPN’s E:60 … After returning home, she decided she needed to do more and spearheaded a foundation named Many Hearts, One Goal, working on a fundraising drive to bring the Haitian Team to the United States, organizing a trip for 20 players and six staff members to come to Orlando, Fla., from July 6-18, 2010, for a mini-camp and to compete in the Disney International Tournament, visit every theme park and have a party with all of the other teams … Currently working on the final stages of her project to help the Haitians by raising money to send the girls to junior colleges in the United States … Lists her secondary position on the U.S. National Team as “hydration specialist” … Favorite TV shows are Teen Wolf and Vampire Diaries … Enjoys salmon and trail mix … Loves peanut butter milkshakes and bike rides … An only child, but considers the U.S. U-20 Women’s National Team her sisters … Besides playing for the U.S. Women’s National Team, her dream job would be a dolphin trainer … Has two dogs, a boxer named Berkeley and a mutt named Wishbone.
