U-17 MNT Topple U-18 MNT 2-1 in Bradenton, Fla.  

BRADENTON, Fla. (March 2, 2005) - The U.S. Under-17 Men's National Team took down the U.S. U-18 Men's National Team 2-1 this afternoon in a scrimmage at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

Amaechi Igwe opened the scoring for the U-17s in the 18th minute, heading home a service off a free kick from Kyle Nakazawa for the only score of the half.

In the second half, the U-17s doubled their lead when Preston Zimmerman found Quavas Kirk and the recently drafted L.A. Galaxy midfielder buried his left-footed shot .

The U-18s struck back in the 80th minute when Robbie Rogers, who's also recently spent time with the U-20s, received a ball David Rodriguez and went on a nice dribbling run before finishing past goalkeeper Bryant Rueckner.
