U-18s Fall in Opening Match of SBS Cup  

SHIZUOKA, Japan (Aug. 11, 2007) - The U.S. Under-18 Men's National Team fell, 1-0, to the Shizuoka Youth in their opening match of the SBS Cup at Kusanagi Stadium in Shizuoka, Japan.

Shizuoka Matsuda finished off a counter-attack in the eighth minute to give Shuzuoka the eventual game-winner. Yosuke Kawai served the ball into the penalty area and Matsuda headed home past goalkeeper Brian Perk.

The U.S. will next face Ukraine on Sunday, Aug. 12 before finishing up the tournament against Japan on Tuesday, Aug. 14.
