Former U.S. Under-20 midfielder Benny Feilhaber signed a three-year contract with German club Hamburg SV this past week. Feilhaber had drawn the interest of the Bundesliga team after a strong performance with the Under-20s during the FIFA World Youth Championship in Holland this past June. The former walk-on at UCLA joined the Under-20s in December of 2004 when head coach Sigi Schmid took over the squad from the departed Thomas Rongen and quickly burst into the starting lineup. A number of teams had interest in the Brazilian-born player, but he decided on Hamburg after visiting the club after the World Youth Championship. - U-20 World Youth Championship Page -
