2002 Intermediate Referee Courses Now Being Scheduled

CHICAGO (Wednesday, October 24, 2001) - Questions about the Intermediate Referee Course can be referred to Alfred Kleinaitis at akleinaitis@ussoccer.org.

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL TRAINING WORKSHOPS FOR REFEREE GRADES 7 AND 8

The National Program for Referee Development is planning a series of two-day Entry/Intermediate Level Training Workshops for grades 7 and 8 referees during 2002. These workshops will focus on various topics.

The National Program for Referee Development will arrange for one referee instructor to conduct the clinic at your location. All travel, lodging and meals for the instructor will be the responsibility of the USSF National Program for Referee Development. The workshops will be conducted on Saturday and Sunday.

The hosting state association will be responsible to arrange for and pay for meeting rooms, audio/visual equipment, local printing or copying of clinic handouts and any refreshments that you wish to provide for the referees.

These workshops will be scheduled equitably between the four regions on a first come first serve basis. To request that a workshop be scheduled for your state, send a letter addressed to:

Intermediate Referee Workshop
United States Soccer Federation, Inc.
1811 S. Prairie Avenue
Chicago, Illinois 60616

In your letter, please indicate:

  • Your preferred week-end date for the workshop to be conducted.
  • The city in which you wish the clinic to be conducted, and any important details on transportation access if the clinic is in a remote location.
  • The name and phone number of your appointed site coordinator.

I encourage you to send your letter as soon as possible to facilitate our planning and your chances of obtaining a workshop in your area.
