U-17 '90 MNT Draw 1-1 in Opening Match of Argentina Tournament

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (March 27, 2006) - The U.S. Under-17 ’90 Men’s National Team dominated the second half of their opening match in Group A of the Copa Esparanzas Corea 2007 Tournament this afternoon against the Comision Actividades Infantiles in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but had to settle for a late equalizer for a 1-1 draw.

The U.S. outshot CAI 10-3, but were behind for the majority of the match as the Argentina regional select team tallied in the 18th minute past Chris Miller.

After a number of attempts on goal, the U.S. finally pulled even when substitute Brandon Tarr buried a pass from Temi Molinar from close range in the 76th minute. Tarr found the back of the net just six minutes after coming on for Danny Barrera and just four minutes from the final whistle as all the matches in the tournament are only 80 minutes.

The U.S. will next play their marquee match of the tournament when they take on the Argentina U-17 Men’s National Team this Thursday, March 30. Depending on the outcome of that match, the U.S. will then play a placement match against a team from Group B, which includes the Australian U-17 Men's National Team, C.A. All Boys and Rafaela Selective.
