Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup
2006 U.S. Open Cup Preview: Seattle Sounders (USL 1) at Carolina Dynamo (PDL)

Seattle Sounders (USL 1) at Carolina Dynamo (PDL)
Macpherson Stadium, Browns Summit, N.C.
Wednesday, July 12, 7:30 p.m. ET

Finding a way to win at Macpherson Stadium has been the Carolina Dynamo’s story throughout their Open Cup run, winning 4-3 against the Cape Cod Crusaders in the First Round and 1-0 against the Richmond Kickers in the Second Round. For the Dynamo, keep your eye on goal scorer Randi Patterson who has scored three Open Cup goals to go along with his 10 regular season tallies. The Seattle Sounders will be well-rested going into this Third Round Match, without having played since their July 1st trip to Miami FC. The Sounders’ leading striker William Weaver has outscored the rest of his teammates, which seems to point to a one man offensive force in the Seattle line-up. Carolina is looking for Weaver to take the night off and hopes the cross-country trip will takes a toll on the Sounders.
