Hackworth Names U-17 Roster for FA Invitational in England

U.S. U-17 MNT To Face Brazil, Mexico and Portugal in Portland, Ore.
CHICAGO (Aug. 25, 2006) - U.S. Under-17 head coach John Hackworth named his 18-player roster today for the FA Friendly International Tournament from Aug. 26 to Sept. 3 in England. The U.S. will face England, Portugal and Turkey during the round-robin tournament.

The U.S. will travel on Saturday, Aug. 26, and train for three days before opening up the four-team tournament against Portugal in Yeading. The U-17s will then face the hosts on Friday, Sept. 1 in Aldershot, and finish up round-robin play against Turkey on Sunday, Sept. 3 in Staines.

Of the 18 players named to the roster, six are new members to U.S. Soccer's Residency Program. Howard Turk, Brendan King, Ryan Garcia, Gregory Garza, Ryan Finley and Zac MacMath joined the program just this past week.
