(August 27, 2006) – Philip Anschutz was presented with the National Soccer Medal of Honor on Sunday, August 27, during the President’s Dinner at the National Soccer Hall of Fame in Oneonta, N.Y. The National Soccer Medal of Honor is a rare distinction awarded by the Hall of Fame to those who have changed the course of the sport in America. In honoring Anschutz, a visionary leader of Major League Soccer, MLS Commissioner Don Garber stated:

On Monday, Anschutz, along with Alexi Lalas, Carla Overbeck, and Al Trost, will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in ceremonies to begin at 10 a.m. ET.
