U.S. WNT Kicks Off 2007 with Home Depot Center Training Camp

CHICAGO (Dec. 4, 2006) - The U.S. Women’s National Team will play its first domestic match of 2007 during the run up to the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup on Saturday, April 14, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass. The U.S. team will play the first match of a doubleheader that also features the home opener of the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer against expansion club Toronto FC. The opponent, kickoff time and TV network for the U.S. women’s game are all TBD, but the Americans do know they will be playing their first match in the Boston area since the historic 1-0 win against Norway on October 1, 2003, during the 2003 FIFA Women’s World Cup quarterfinals at Gillette Stadium. Abby Wambach scored the USA’s loan goal on a header in front of more than 20,000 fans.
