Dates Finalized for Six-Game Women's World Cup Send-Off Series This Summer

CHICAGO (May 9, 2007) – U.S. Soccer has produced an in depth look at the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team in preparation for the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup that will air on Fox Soccer Channel in advance of this weekend’s USA-Canada match being broadcast live on FSC on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.

The 30-minute program features personality profiles of the team’s players, behind-the scenes access and a look at day-to-day life for the U.S. women as they prepare for a seven-game tour of the United States this summer in advance of the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup. The show also features at look at the coaching style of Greg Ryan, who has guided the U.S. women to a 32-0-7 record in two years as the team’s head coach.

After debuting on Wednesday evening, “We Are … the U.S. Women’s National Team” will air two more times on Fox Soccer Channel, beginning Friday, May 11, at 8:30 p.m. ET, and again on Saturday, May 12, at 2:30 p.m. ET. Saturday’s show airs just a few hours before the U.S. women take on Canada (tickets) at 7:30 p.m. ET from Frisco, Texas (live pre-game show begins at 7 p.m. ET). If you miss any of the FSC broadcasts, visit ussoccer.com's Studio 90 to view the show in its entirety.

The USA-Canada match in Texas will see the USA wearing pink uniforms in a match to benefit Breast Cancer Awareness. Following that game, the U.S. women will embark on a six-game 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup Send-Off Series, starting against China on June 16 in Cleveland and continuing against Brazil on June 23 in East Rutherford, N.J. in a re-match of the 2004 Olympic gold medal game.
