U.S. Soccer Officials to Take Part in 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cup  

CHICAGO (Wednesday, July 9, 2003) - Kevin Stott and Chris Strickland will leave for Miami on Friday, July 11, 2003 to officiate in the 2003 CONCACAF Gold Cup.  Twelve referees were selected from the CONCACAF member organizations to referee at this top competition being played in three cities - Foxboro, Mass., Miami, Fla., and Mexico City.

Stott lives in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and has been a member of the FIFA International Panel of Referees since 1993.

Strickland, from Fremont, Calif., has been a FIFA Assistant Referee since January 1, 2002.

Esse Baharmast, Director of Professional and International Referee Development for U.S. Soccer and a member of the CONCACAF Referee Committee, will head to Mexico City as a Referee Inspector in charge of that venue. Baharmast is a former FIFA Referee who officiated at the World Cup in France in 1998.
